School Improvement

In this section you will find information on our school improvement journey and our priorities for the year ahead. This information includes:

  • Our annual Standards and Quality Report
  • The school Improvement plan
  • Attainment
  • School Inspection Reports

Schools regularly evaluate their effectiveness against a set of Quality Indicators set out in the framework “How Good is Our School 4” (HGIOS4). This framework is used regularly by schools but also forms the basis of school Inspections. Inspections will focus on a set number of Quality Indicators and schools have the ability to select an additional indicator which perhaps highlights a particular area of improvement within the school.

The key to school improvement is based on how effectively we evaluate our performance. Schools use a vast amount of rich and varied data to determine how well they are doing, these include:

  • Quantitative data e.g. attainment data
  • Peoples views e.g. parental questionnaires, pupil voice, focus groups
  • Direct observations e.g. learning visits
