Coronavirus Update 17.3.20

As of Tuesday 17th March we have an increasing number of staff following NHS guidelines and self-isolating, this impacts on our ability to provide a ‘normal service’.

We are prioritising S4-6 pupils’ time in school as they work towards SQA deadlines and prepare for exams.

Therefore, from Wednesday 18th March, we will begin a process where, on rotation, S1, S2 and S3 year groups will be asked to remain at home. This means S3 students should stay at home on Wednesday 18th, S2 on Thursday 19th March and S1 on Friday 20th March.

At the same time, we want to give parents and carers notice of our intention so you can make childcare contingency plans for this week and potentially ongoing, depending on staffing levels. We have shared our contingency plans with members of the parent council last night and they are in agreement with our approach to managing resources and maximising the time senior phase students are in school.

If students are at home they will be able to access learning remotely.  The school is well-placed for all students to continue with their education by accessing learning resources through GLOW. Staff are sharing information with their classes and ensuring they understand how and where to access their learning.

More information will be shared with you in the coming days. We have plans in place for this week, you will appreciate that this is a developing situation and all of these may be subject to change. We will continue to update you on a daily basis with the current situation in school.

More information will be provided for parents/carers of pupils in the senior phase and the planning we have for SQA assignments, deadlines and assessments.

We will also be asking you to complete an online form to provide us with information regarding access to technology at home e.g. laptops etc other than mobile phones. Please complete as soon as possible to ensure we have an understanding of access to digital resources. Link below
