Beeslack High School Update 24.3.20
School Closure Update and Distance Learning
As you are aware the school is now closed to all pupils until further notice. The majority of staff are now working from home and we have a number of staff who are volunteering to support the children of NHS, care and emergency services staff in our hub schools across the authority.
We have a new Distance Learning page on our school website.
We will continue to update this with information, tips and advice for pupils and parents/carers as we all get used to working with this on-line format. Twitter is also a great source for tips which we will be retweeting (@BeeslackHigh) – we understand that this can be overwhelming so please get in touch if you are experiencing any issues and we will do our best to support you.
There are currently no support staff in school to answer telephones so please direct any queries to the school email address Beeslack.email@example.com any correspondence or query will be directed to the most appropriate person. This will include
- Principal Teachers Curriculum
- Principal Teacher Pupil Support
- Depute Head Teacher
If you know specifically who you would like to respond please mark your email for their attention. As staff are working from home they will either email you directly or give you a call if that’s appropriate.
For students in S4-6 we are still waiting for an update from SQA as to how outstanding coursework and certification will take place, this is expected imminently. We will be in touch as soon as we have more information. Most staff are in touch with senior pupils through the on-line platforms that they usually use. Teaching staff are keeping them up to date with any course work or tasks they would normally be completing at this stage in the session. Please try to reassure your son/daughter if they are concerned about their qualifications that we will do our very best for them.
Many thanks again for your continued support and we will continue to update you with any information as this situation progresses.
