SiMBA triumph at YPI final

On Thursday 14th March we had a tear jerking, funny, interactive, musical and emotional Youth and Philanthropy Initiative final. After much deliberation the judges chose SiMBA to be the recipient of the £3000 grant from The Wood Foundation. During their presentation Angel and Sommer moved many to tears but beamed with pride as they received the big cheque from George Smuga, our YPI representative.
Donations from our non-uniform day money were made to Richmond’s Hope, Thistle Foundation, Penicuik First Responders, Alzheimer Scotland and Deaf Action, the other charities in the final.
Following a vote by S2 the winning billboard was raising awareness for Bright Sparks and they will receive a donation too.
With interval refreshments from the Malawi group and entertainment by the dancers it really was a memorable evening.
Well done to all of the young people involved!
