SQA Results - What Now?
SQA 2019 results day is Tuesday 6th August. The following information may be of relevance to students/parents depending on individual results.
If you’ve received your results and you believe them to be what you anticipated, then you don’t need to do anything! However, if they’re not, then you should discuss this with a member of school staff.
I think one of my exam results is wrong, what do I do?
It is quite rare that an error occurs with an SQA result but, on occasion, it can happen. If you feel your result is incorrect you should get in touch with school. The SQA has two processes, as part of their post-results service, which can be used in these rare cases. Guidance Notes have been issued to all pupils, are available on the school website or the SQA website (Post results service Guidance Notes for Students 2019)
I think I need to change my course choices, what do I do?
When you have received your results you may need to consider the next steps in your learning journey and whether the courses you have chosen are still right for you. If you think you need to change a subject(s) or need to change your level all re-coursing will take place during the first week back in school. Appointments will be issued to students who require to make a change and guidance teachers and members of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) will meet with you to help you make any changes.
To prepare for this meeting, you should look at the courses on offer in our Senior Phase curriculum and think about what subject you may wish to take. This information is on the school website.
I would like to speak to speak to someone for advice, who can I contact?
If you need help or support with working out what your results mean for you and your future plans then contact the school – members of the SLT will be in school on the 6th August from 10am – 12 noon. Alternatively a member of our Skills Development Scotland Careers Service can help you. If you would like to speak with someone beyond school, you can call ‘My World of Work’s’ Exam Results Helpline, on 0808 100 8000, to get advice on what to do next. The free helpline from Scotland’s careers service offers advice, information and support when you’re not sure what your options are.
It will open on results day – Tuesday 6 August at 8am. The operating hours are notes below.
- Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 August, 8am-8pm
- Thursday 8 to Wednesday 14 August, 9am-5pm
